Types of eye color

Brown eyes
Description
Brown eyes contain large amounts of melanin in the anterior part of the iris. While dark brown eyes have large amounts of melanin, while light brown (color honey) have less. It is one of the most common phenotypes for eye color in humans. The genes that determine this eye color are located on the chromosome 15.

Amber eyes
Description
Amber is an intermediate color between brown and hazel. The amber eyes are of a homogeneous tone that can go from yellowish to golden reddish.

Hazel eyes
Description
The hazel is an intermediate shade between brown and green. It can contain several tones within the same iris, that is to say there can be brown, amber or green sectors.

Green eyes
Description
The green eyes are the product of moderate amounts of melanin. Green is an intermediate color between brown and blue tones.

Blue eyes
Description
The blue eyes contain low amounts of melanin in the anterior part of the iris.
